This position is modifiable, which allows you to fine-tune where you want each of your objects (videos, audios, transitions) to be placed on the time-line (and many more fine-tuning possibilities). When you right-click on a clip or a transition and select "properties", you have access to its position on the time-line with a 1/100s precision.
